This is my writing about one of projects given in psychology of learning class. This is a reflection of it. I post it here for filling my silent blog. Hehhe.. Have a nice reading! :)

This paper will explain about my reflection of 'hafazan project' given by Madam Lihanna Borhan. This project is one of projects given throughout the semester which asks the students to memorize some chapters of the Qur'an. There are five different chapters which should be memorized by the students with given duration of time. Those chapters are Al-’Alaq (1 week), Asy-Syams& Ad-Dhuha (2 weeks), Al-Mulk (2 weeks), Al-Waqi’ah (3 weeks), Al-Baqarah verses 25-37 (2 weeks).

When the due date is coming, the students must be done with their memorization. After they memorized a certain chapter clearly, they should record it to then upload it to padlet, an application requested by Madam to be used to let Madam watchdirectly the record.

Beside that, the students have to make a reflection about their process of memorization. They have to answer some question and explain any learning principle from cognitive and behaviorist point of view that they use to enhance and improve their memorizing process, and the most challenging part they face in the particular .chapter and the solution they use to solve the challenge.

For me personally, this project is really challenging. This is because I have memorized all chapters which are ordered. This project has challenged me to recall my memory. I feel some difficulty because I have forgot some part of the chapter, therefore I feel this task is very challenging.

During my experience to do this project, I face some hardness. The hardest thing is to answer some question in the reflection paper. As I mentioned before, I have memorized all required chapters long time ago. It makes me difficult to remember and recall the way I memorize the verses of Al-quran, what type of learning has been used, and how I reinforce myself to do it.This is because when I was in junior and senior high school, it is compulsory for me to memorize Al-quran as much as I can.

Secondly, when I finish recording what I have memorized, it is difficult for me to upload the record to the padlet. I have to move the record from my phone to my laptop, then upload it. It really takes time. Not only that, when I upload my groupmate’s video, I always fail, and that makes me stressful especially when IIUM wifi becomes problematic.

After I analyze the use of padlet in this hafazan project, I find some advantages and disadvantages of it. Its benefits are that it provides me to do muraja’ah of my memorization of the Qur’an, and the using of padlet makes the students easy to show their performance to the lecturer and it also makes the lecturer easy to watch many videos of the students directly in very short time.

The disadvantages of using padlet are as I mentioned before, it is difficult and really takes time when the wifi is problematic. In addition, it is not an effective way to recall the hafazan because some people might not memorize it well and forget some part of the surah. When they forget, they may read other verses or jump into the next verse without conciousness. It is will be better to recite our memorization in front of someone, so the listener can directly correct our mistakes.

That is all my reflection of the hafazan project. In my conclusion, it is beneficial project for the students especially for me to do muraja’ah of my memorization.
